I ordered one of these keyboards and when I finally got it, it was a real disappointment. I had the following problems:
- Three of the keys came off during shipping and one had completely broken off and couldn't be put back on.
- One of the keys didn't come back up whenever it was pressed down.
- It would often reverse the default case so that the default would be upper case and you would need to press <shift> or <CAPS> to enter lower case characters.
- The plastic case was very rough. It looks like the molds were sculpted by hand and then not even sanded. The whole look of the product was worse than something you would find in a dollar-store.
- The thumb keys were recessed too deep into the case so that the surrounding casing makes it difficult for you to press them.
- Many of the keys actually touched surrounding keys so that slowed press and release speeds.
- The tactile feel was awful.
- The palm-rest area at the front of the keyboard is smaller than other keyboards of this type and so the front of the keyboard cuts off half-way across your palm which is annoying. They waste a lot of space behind the function keys which could be removed in order to provide more palm space without increasing the overall depth of the keyboard.
- The pinky-finger row is unusually high. You have type type with your pinkies held up and the strain becomes very bad after a few minutes. This also causes your ring-finger to brush up against the pinky row when you're typing.
This experience really made me appreciate my Kinesis. It seems that there still doesn't exist an inexpensive contoured keyboard.
