Worthwhile books for software developers (IMO):

>>Component Software: Beyond Object-Oriented Programming

A long difficult read but well worth it.

>>Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software

It should go without saying that every developer should own a copy of the Design Pattern Bible.

>>Concurrent Programming in Java: Design Principles and Patterns

You could skip this book and just use Doug Lea's until.concurrent package instead but this is a fascinating book.

>>Pragmatic Programmer, The: From Journeyman to Master

The second book that I think that every developer should own.

>>Programming Ruby: The Pragmatic Programmer's Guide

>>Programmers at Work: Interviews With 19 Programmers Who Shaped the Computer Industry

A difficult to find but amazing book.

>>Emergence: The Connected Lives of Ants, Brains, Cities, and Software

>>Fuzzy Thinking: The New Science of Fuzzy Logic

>>The New Turing Omnibus

Computer science made easy.

To Read:
>>Under the Radar: Starting Your Internet Business without Venture Capital
