Big Ideas in Computer Science

Mark Guzdial has a blog entry entitled >>The Big Ideas of Computer Science, Part 1.

To his list I would add:

  • "Polymorphism" and "Composition" (which would take care of both OO and functional programming), and
  • Lisp's idea of Code/Data duality
